This section of my web site is included with some hesitation only because it may be viewed as an ego page.  I have been very blessed to be able to work with a group of kids and parents over the past five years that have brought me more joy than I could have ever expected.   I truly love this sport called basketball, and have such a strong passion for teaching it to young people that is difficult to explain.  The joy it brings to me can only be exceeded in seeing the kids learn the skills I teach, and then implement them in the games they play.  To say the parents have been great is such an understatement, as I get them involved in our games at a level they never expected. 

 I am including below a representative sample of the letters I have received, so that you may get more of an insight into my coaching philosophy.

 1-…Coach Bill, your influence on our son’s life continues to shine through.  He is a nice, well rounded man and I believe none of this would have been possible without your influence on his life.  He continues to maintain an A/B average and is in the top 10% of his class.  Thank you so much for all the basketball and life skills you have taught him.  Your years of influence continue to shine though…

 2- …We wish to thank you for all you have done for our son. Your sessions with him were the only true, positive experiences he has had with his coaches over the last couple of years.  You took a genuine interest in him which we all felt and greatly appreciate…

 3-… you cannot deny the part you play in all this.  You are a wonderful coach, role model and mentor and I thank God everyday you came into our son’s life.  I know he will always remember the life lessons you taught him while teaching and encouraging him in a game you both love so much…

 4-….Bill, just wanted to let you know that he made the sophomore team.  He attributes his improved ball playing to his sessions with you and looks forward to resuming when you can…As always, we greatly appreciate all you have done to help him improve his play and passion for the game…

 5-…We feel blessed that you are a part of our village – you bring much knowledge about the game to our boys but more than that you teach a sense of integrity and self respect to them as well. ..

 6- …The kids acquitted themselves very well.  I know we are very proud of the job both boys did, and we found ourselves looking at each other following a big play and saying "Bill Milam".   They did you proud this weekend!  Anyway, the boys are really maturing into good ball players (with lots of work to go) and lot of the credit has to go to you.  Thanks! …

 7-…I have so much enjoyed getting to know you.  You are a true gentleman and wonderful coach.  I know the time our son has worked with you has been a very positive experience for him... 

 8- …I just want to say thank you soooo much for everything you have helped me accomplish.  If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be where I am now.  To me you are one of the family…
